Trainees 2021
New Wine Trainee Weekend Away Autumn 2021
What is the New Wine Discipleship Year? The Discipleship Year is about growing as disciples of Jesus, learning how to serve him and his Kingdom with the whole of your life. It will take you on a life-changing journey of discovery and adventure, where you’ll be inspired, get practical Kingdom experience, make life-long friendships, and have a lot of fun in the process!
Who is it for? The Discipleship Year is for ANYONE aged 18-24 looking to:
Grow confidence in who God has made you to be
Discover the purpose He has for your life
Get involved by serving in a local church
Discover, exercise and nurture your spiritual gifts and passions
Be challenged to step out, risk and see God work through you
Teaching Every Tuesday we will gather as a training centre at All Saint's Marlow for a day of teaching. The curriculum is carefully tailored to enable you to learn the foundations of faith including topics on; doctrine, practical theology, character, leadership and hot topics. The day will run from 9am-4pm, including morning and afternoon teaching sessions, a word for the day, sung worship and time to pray together.
Throughout the year there are also two national weekends away where we gather will all the training centres across the country. These weekends cover some of the key aspects of the teaching as well as a great opportunity to get to know other trainees and to make lasting friendships.
Placements Alongside teaching, you will also serve as part of a placement in an area of ministry that you are particularly passionate about, as well as some other areas to give you a broad range of experience of ministry through the year. Placements do vary in the amount of time required from you in the week, with the average being a day and a half, though there are full time placements available. Most placements allow time for you to get a part time job so that you can support yourself financially through the year, as well as explore the mission field in the locality that you’re in. Those placements that require more time from you sometimes pay towards the student fee cost.
