We are a collection of churches and parishes in the south of Buckinghamshire who are part of the Church of England. Our purpose is to work together to forward the mission of the church in our deanery. In other words, we are charged with making it possible for people to know more about the truth of the good news of Jesus Christ in our local communities.
Wycombe Deanery is a very distinctive and greatly contrasting deanery with very urban centres of population as well as deeply rural areas. It serves the towns of High Wycombe, its largest centre, as well as Marlow. It stretches from the Thames Valley in the South East to the Chiltern Escarpment in the North West. It serves a variety of parishes with an equal variety of church traditions and ways of organising themselves.
The Oxford Diocese regards the Deanery as a key planning unit for the development of mission and ministry in our area. We are required to assess the deployment of clergy throughout the Deanery and to keep under review a clear plan of how we understand our ministry and mission and the way God is calling us to address these.
In these pages you will find in-house information for clergy and lay people. You will also find available information about those local churches if you need to contact them about marriage, baptisms or any other matter.
We hope you enjoy browsing.
